The Algarve is at its hottest during July and August with an average daily temperature of 24\u00baC, but as well as sunbathing and exploring the beautiful beaches or hanging out by the pool, here are some fun things we\u2019ve picked out for you to enjoy this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival Fun in the Algarve<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

No summer in the Algarve would be complete without a festival or two to showcase the region\u2019s traditional crafts, cuisine and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Sardine Festival in Portim\u00e3o from 1-6 August<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating the national favourite fish, the Sardine Festival combines delicious fish dishes and major musical superstars. Everything takes place along the banks of the Adrade River where families, friends and visitors are all welcome to gather and celebrate during warm summer evenings. Musical acts are featured throughout the evening on four different stages. Each night a nationally-famous artist will be featured on the Main Stage (Palco Principal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. FATACIL Festival from 18-27 of August in the Municipal Festival Grounds of Lagoa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This festival is about the Algarve\u2019s heritage. The acronym stands for FATACIL = <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feira de Artesanato, Turismo, Agricultura, Com\u00e9rcio e Ind\u00fastria de Lagoa. The region\u2019s best traditional crafts are on show, with demonstrations, stands, local food and concerts. Over 180 artisans gather to demonstrate their workmanship and sell unique gifts. Agricultural growers and producers from all over the Algarve display and sell cheeses, charcuterie, honey, canned fish, citrus and dried fruits, sweets, pastries, and regional wines. Farmers also show their indigenous breeds of sheep and goats. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

3. Purobeach at the Tivoli Marina hotel Vilamoura<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A private beach club and hip pool lounge, choosing to establish itself in the Algarve after successful clubs in jet-setting locations such as Marbella, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Playa del Carmen. 5. Algarve Surf School & Camp<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Surfing really does keep you young and fit so where better to start enrol than the Algarve Surf School & Camp in the little surfing town of Sagres at the End of the Old World. Head coach Sergio started teaching local children how to surf over 25 years ago and was not only the national junior team coach, but taught Nic von Rupp and Miguel Mouzinho.
